What can I do/use to keep snakes away? - keeping mocasins tied

I live in the country and has a field next to and behind my house.
We have many snakes had come into the yard. Today, just off the pitch. Now my house.
We have children and I fear for them in the yard now playing. I do not mean green snakes and chicken snakes, snakes, or corn. I'm talking about rattlesnakes, water Mocasina Creek and others. Can anyone help? If we have seen how these ... here we have not seen? How many of them in my house? Can they work their way into the canal? What should I do?
Move it? Seriously think about it. No option.
I would be ..... I love snakes, GO!
